In Abundance: Onno Kleyn

You want to start eating healthier and more sustainably. This time, for real. But how do you go about it? Can it still taste good? The Watersnood Museum and Onno Kleyn are here to guide you on Saturday, September 28!
Clearing Your Plate with a Last Potato, Because the Custard Must Go In – Who Remembers? Throughout the 20th century, eating habits have evolved dramatically. From boiling vegetables for shorter periods, preparing pasta, dining in exotic restaurants, and using new ingredients like bell peppers and avocados, to the rise in meat consumption—changes were abundant. Culinary historian and writer Onno Kleyn, known for his books and columns in de Volkskrant, will take us on a journey through the history of our food, starting from the early 20th century. It will be both a nostalgic celebration and a source of delightful surprises!
