Volunteer for Garden Work (m/f/x)
Do you know what it takes to make the nature around the museum grow and flourish? Then we are looking for you!
Wat can you do for us?
Do you enjoy working outdoors? Do you like doing tasks on your own? Do you feel happy when a garden looks neat and beautiful? And do you know how much water plants need?
As a garden volunteer, you help keep the outside of the Watersnoodmuseum looking great. You take care of the gardens and green areas around the museum and the museum café.
Why volunteer with us?
- There’s always something to do. You’re welcome any day of the week.
- You choose the times and days you want to work. You also decide how many hours.
- With a volunteer contract, you are insured and you know what to expect.
- You’ll be part of a friendly team with other volunteers and museum staff.
- You’re welcome at events and lectures the museum organizes.
- Each year we organize a fun day out for all volunteers – including you!

About the Museum
The Watersnoodmuseum wants to keep the memory of the 1953 flood disaster and other floods around the world alive, out of respect for the victims. The museum also helps people learn about water risks and climate change, and think about possible solutions and actions.
The museum does this mainly by telling stories about the 1953 flood and other water disasters. Visitors are invited to reflect on how we deal with water, climate change, and sea level rise. In this way, the Watersnoodmuseum is the place in the Netherlands – and in the world – where young and old think about both the dramatic and hopeful sides of water. A place where head and heart come together.
