All-Round Museum Volunteer (m/f/x)

Do you enjoy welcoming and helping museum visitors? And do you like variety in your work? Then we would love to have you in our museum!

What can you do for us?

Do you enjoy talking to people? Would you like to support us and our visitors in different ways? And does it make you happy to do something new every day?

As an all-round volunteer in the museum, no day is the same. Sometimes you greet visitors at the entrance or wave goodbye to them at the shop. On other days, you show them the way through the museum or serve a drink in the coffee corner.

Why volunteer with us?
  • There is always something to do. You’re welcome any day of the week.
  • You choose when you want to work. You also decide how many hours.
  • With a volunteer contract, you are insured and know exactly what to expect.
  • You work in a friendly team with a mix of volunteers and staff members.
  • You are welcome at all events and lectures organised by the Watersnoodmuseum.
  • Every year we organise a fun day out for our volunteers – and that includes you!
  • As an all-round museum volunteer, you can grow into the role of guide.

About the museum

The Watersnoodmuseum keeps the memory of the 1953 flood disaster and other floods around the world alive, out of respect for the victims. The museum also helps people understand the risks of water and climate change and invites them to think about solutions and action.

This way, the museum works toward a safe and sustainable world with fewer flood victims.

The museum does this by telling stories – about the 1953 disaster and other flood events – and helping visitors reflect on how we deal with water, climate change, and sea level rise. That’s how the Watersnoodmuseum has become the place in the Netherlands – and beyond – where people of all ages think about both the dangers and the hope connected to water. A place where heart and mind come together.
