Wednesday 22 March 2017 "Jakarta, the people behind the seawall" - photo exhibition

From March 22nd onwards, the impressing photo exhibition "Jakarta, the people behind the seawall" is open to the public in the Watersnoodmuseum.

The photographer, Cynthia Boll, followed 4 'ordinary' people in their day-to-day life and displays their struggle with the yearly flooding of large parts of the city of Jakarta, Indonesia, in beautiful, touching pictures. The photos are telling the personal stories of these people, and give an insight in the enormous impact of water issues on daily life.

This exhibition is an adaptation of the exhibtion that was shown earlier in Jakarta, and was made possible by contributions of Stichting Mondiale Bewustwording Zeeland, the Mondriaan Fund and dredging company Van Oord.

Entrance included in the regular entrance fee of the museum.
